Turkish forces shell areas in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces shelled on Thursday the town of Tel Rifaat and a village in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northwest Syria.

An exclusive source told North Press, “Turkish forces shelled with five artillery shells the vicinity of Tel Rifaat and the village of Sheikh Issa in Aleppo northern countryside.”

Until now, no material damage or casualties have been recorded, he added.

The villages and towns of Aleppo northern countryside are repeatedly subjected to shelling by Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The town of Tel Rifaat, 35 km north of Aleppo city, has been a shelter for Afrin displaced people since 2018 following the Turkish invasion of Afrin and its countryside which resulted in the displacement of about 300.000 of the original inhabitants.
