Men’s Volleyball tournament kicks off in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – The Men’s Volleyball tournament started on Sunday, with nine teams, from north and east Syria, participating in the city of Kobani, northern Syria.
The tournament is run by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
The tournament was launched with an opening match between Raqqa Internal Security and al-Jazira Asayish teams.
Bozan Barkel, Co-chair of the Youth and Sport Commission of the AANES said that the tournament will continue for six days, consisting of nine teams.

The teams were put into two groups: the first consisted of four teams while the other consisted of five.
This is the second tournament of its kind, as the first one took place in Raqqa at the end of 2021 with 12 teams participating in it, Barkel noted.
The first and second-placed teams from each group will be qualified to Simi-finals and then to the finals,” he said, adding that the winner will be awarded the tournament’s cup.
The AANES Youth and Sport Commission will also honour the second and third place holders, said the co-chair.
