Turkish forces bombard villages in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Using drones and artillery, Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian opposition factions, known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), bombarded on Sunday several villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria.
An exclusive source told North Press, “A Turkish drone targeted the village of Bilounia and the outskirts of the town of Tel Rifaat in Aleppo northern countryside.”
The source added, “The Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions struck with three shells the vicinity of the village of Sheikh Isa in Tel Rifaat eastern countryside.”
The town of Tel Rifaat, 35 km north of Aleppo city, has been a shelter for Afrin displaced people since 2018 following the Turkish invasion of Afrin and its countryside which resulted in the displacement of about 300.000 of Afrin’s original inhabitants, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
No casualties were recorded, and the damage is only material, the source noted.
Recently, the villages and towns in Aleppo northern countryside have been repeatedly targeted by the Turkish forces and their allied SNA.
