Fuel tanker burned in Syria’s Hasakah, suffocation cases reported  

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A fuel tanker burnt on Sunday in Guweiran neighborhood in the city of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

The tanker was burnt in front of a three-floor building which led to the siege of its residents.

Fire trucks and Internal Security Forces of North and east Syria (Asayish) rushed to the fire site to put out the fire and rescue the population.

One of the residents said that the fire surrounded the building entrance which besieged the residents of six apartments.

The building’s owner said that the emergency forces and the Asayish smashed the bathroom’s windows and expanded them from the other side of the building.

They climbed to the roof of the neighboring building to be able to enter and rescue the residents.

He added that there were six women and two children among those besieged in the building.  

Two residents were hospitalized to the National Hospital in Hasakah after suffering from asphyxiation due to smoke.

A medical source said that the health situation of the two residents is stable.

The tanker also caused the burning of three food shops and damaged two houses.
