Crew killed in helicopter crash in Syria’s Hama  

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A military helicopter of Syrian government forces was crashed on Sunday morning in the city of Hama, central Syria, killing the whole crew.

The helicopter fell down at al-Arba’een Roundabouts in Hama, where smoke plumes covered the northeastern neighborhoods of the city.

Following the crash, ambulances along with police and civil defenses rushed to the area. 

State-run SANA news agency said that a military helicopter crashed on Sunday morning in northeast Hama during a training mission.

The helicopter crew died due to a technical malfunction.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) mentioned that “Three members lost their lives, including at least one officer, after a helicopter crashed in Hama.”

In addition, the helicopter was completely burned, and demolishing the house on which it fell. 

On September 2, MiG-21 aircraft of Syrian government forces crashed in the vicinity of the town al-Khalidiyeh in the countryside of Suwayda, causing material damage only.
