Turkish forces resume shelling north of Syria’s Hasakah
TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces shelled on Tuesday, for the third consecutive day, the countryside of the town of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria.
A source of the Tel Tamr Military Council, affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), told North Press that the Turkish forces targeted with artillery shells the villages of Dashisha and al-Gozaliya, west of Tel Tamr.
The attacks displaced residents from the two villages and caused material damage to their properties, according to the source.
The Turkish forces shelled at dawn on Tuesday the villages of al-Gozaliya, Tel al-Laban and Salamsa, west of Tel Tamr town, which resulted in the death of Ibrahim Muhammad Hashi from the village of Salamsa.
Through the past three weeks, residents of Tel Tamr have been living in a state of concern after residents who live on contact lines in northern and western countryside of the town were displaced and headed south towards neighboring camps and safe villages.
Since Monday, Turkish forces have shelled dozens of villages in the countryside of the border towns of Derbasiyah and Amuda.
On Tuesday, four fighters of the Self-Defense Forces (compulsory recruitment), affiliated with the SDF, lost their lives in a Turkish bombardment of the city of Qamishli. The shelling of the city also wounded 12 people, including children, according to official statements.
