Emergency state in NE Syria focuses on health and economic sectors – AANES

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The emergency state procedures focused on both health and economic sectors, said Amina Ossi, deputy so-presidency of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AAANES) on Wednesday.

On July 6, the AANES declared a state of emergency due to the continued Turkish threats.

Ossi added that the AANES directed all of its bodies and institutions to make more efforts during the state of emergency.

The declaration came following a special session of the AANES General Council to confront any possible attack by Turkey on the region.

“The Health Board of the AANES paid visits to all hospitals, health centers and medical points to provide the requested needs related to the health sector in case of any war erupted in northeast Syria,” she noted.

The AANES was first formed in 2014 in the Kurdish-majority regions of Afrin, Kobani and Jazira in northern Syria following the withdrawal of the government forces. Later, it was expanded to Manbij, Tabqa, Raqqa, Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor after the SDF defeated ISIS militarily there.

The official pointed out that the Economic Board also provided all the required needs and filled out all the shortages.

In addition, the Social Affairs and Labour Board visited all the camps, and measured and evaluated the ability to receiving new IDPs.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
