IED explodes in Turkish-backed SNA vehicle in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – An explosive device planted inside a military vehicle belonging to Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) exploded, on Thursday, on a road leads to the town of Kafr Kalbin in the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo, north Syria.
The vehicle belonged to Khaled Derbala, nicknamed Abu Tha’er Derbala. Only material damages were reported, a military source told North Press.
Military Police faction, affiliated with Turkish forces, cordoned the site, where the explosion occurred, while Levant Front faction was on alert, the source added.
On July 7, a member of an SNA faction was injured in an IED explosion in military vehicle carrying ammunition near the building of the Turkish-backed Military Police faction on the northern corridor of the city of Azaz.
Since July 2012, Azaz and the surrounding villages, north of Aleppo, have been under the control of the Turkish-backed Syrian armed opposition factions.
Successive bombings and kidnapping take place frequently in the city amid inability of the Syrian opposition factions to maintain security.
