Turkish military reinforcements continue flowing to Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday at midnight, a Turkish military convoy entered through al-Rai crossing in the northern countryside of Aleppo and headed towards the city of al-Bab east of Aleppo.

An exclusive source told North Press Agency, “The military convoy that included tanks, personnel carriers, ammunition, and armored vehicles headed towards al-Bab east of Aleppo.”

The source went further saying that the convoy passed by tadif Roundabout in al-Bab, and it headed to contact lines east of al-Bab.

These Turkish military steps come in tandem with Turkish threats to launch a new military operation against Syria’s north.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.

On July 1, Erdogan said that Ankara’s new military operation in northern Syria could begin at any moment.

“I always say that we can start [the incursion] at any moment at night. We should not worry and rush, especially since we are working in the area,” Erdogan told reporters after returning from the NATO summit in Madrid.

Turkey continues sending its military convoys, including vehicles, armored vehicles, ammunition and tanks, towards its military bases, in areas held by Turkish-backed armed Syrian opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA).

On Thursday, the Turkish forces brought in two military convoys to Syrian territory, one headed to contact lines in the city of Marea and the other to al-Bab.

Meanwhile, the government forces and pro-Iranian factions sent reinforcements to the city of Tel Rifaat and its outskirts, north Aleppo, setting up berms and fortifications.
