Syria’s Autonomous Administration seeks to stop war through political, diplomatic means

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Hassan Kocher, deputy co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration on North and East Syria (AANES), said on Thursday that the AANES seeks to prevent the war in the region through political and diplomatic means.

“There are preparations in terms of logistics and other aspects in anticipation of any possible war targeting the region,” Kocher added.

“The people of the region are the ones who decide the fate of this war, as they all must unite and support the military forces [SDF] to confront the possible Turkish invasion,” he further explained.

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border invasion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.

“Facing the Turkish military operation lies on the population to organize and protect themselves through supporting the military forces and confronting the war that Turkey is threatening to launch against the region, which will reactivate the terrorist groups and affect the security and stability of the region,” he said.

On Wednesday, the AANES declared a state of emergency due to the continued Turkish threats.
