Opposition sends military reinforcements to Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syrian (North Press) – On Tuesday, Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), sent large military reinforcements to the city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
A military source told North Press that scores of military vehicles, carried a large number of militants, arrived after midnight in the battle fronts in the city of al-Bab, east of Aleppo, and the town of Tel Rifaat, north of Aleppo.
The military reinforcements also included tanks and medium and heavy weapons, which were deployed on the fronts, near al-Bab and Tel Rifaat, preparing to launch a military operation on the area, according to the source.
On the other hand, Syrian government forces and Iranian-backed faction sent military reinforcement to Tel Rifaat and its outskirt, and they raised the earth berms and fortifications, according to the source.
These movements come following several statements by Turkish prominent officials on launching military operation against areas held by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
