SDF arrests four ISIS members in Syria’s Hasakah southern countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday it arrested four wanted ISIS cells members, including a leader, in the southern countryside of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

With the support of the Global Coalition, the SDF managed to arrest four wanted ISIS members in the village of Ghariba in the countryside of Markadah, south of Hasakah, a military source in the international coalition told North-Press

“The leader had participated this yera in carrying out terrorist attacks, targeting civilians and security and military forces. He also had connection to other ISIS members who were recently arrested,” the source added.

 “The arrested leader had security duties during ISIS control of the region,” the source said.

In a statement, the SDF announced that its forces carried out on Tuesday a sweep campaign to pursue ISIS cells in the town of Markadah, and that they arrested four wanted members of ISIS cells.

The members of the cell were providing ammunition to other cells each consisting of four members.
