Tribal leaders in NE Syria demand Arab League condemn countries funding Turkish settlements
Hasakah, Syria (North Press) – Tribal leaders and dignitaries in the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria called on Wednesday the Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation Council to make an attitude towards Qatar and Kuwait for funding the Turkish settlements in Syria.
This came during a statement, in which the sheikhs and the prominent figures considered this support as “an assault and a crime against the Syrians.”
In early May, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced preparations for settling about one million Syrian refugees in 13 Syrian areas which are not the areas the refugees are originally from.
“While they are seriously seeking a political solution to the Syrian issue, Turkey, along with its affiliated (SNA) factions, is escalating its systematic policy, to complete its settlement project based on demographic change,” the statement said.
