Draft of Social contract for northeast Syria was written

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) –  On Saturday, the Social Contract Drafting Committee in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) completed its work on discussing the Articles of the social contract at the headquarters of the Democratic Union Party, in Hasakah, northeast Syria.

The expanded committee for drafting the social contract  began its work for the fourth round on Friday, as the sessions were suspended stopped on January 18, because of ISIS attack on Hasakah’s prison.

On Friday, in the presence of members of the expanded committee consisting of 157 members, representatives of the Autonomous Administration, political parties, civil society institutions, human rights and jurists, and social and tribal activities, the work of the 4th round restarted.

The discussions included the latest Articles of the social contract, a review of its introduction, and some outstanding and postponed details from previous meetings.

The sessions were resumed on the eighteenth of last January 18 in the city of Hasakah for two days, but it was to suspended again due to the bad weather.

” We discussed the draft of the social contract for northeast Syria during the 4 sessions. We discussed what had left from the social contract yesterday and today. We discussed 93 articles. Today we finished writing the draft of the social contract of northeast Syria,” Amina Omar, co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), said.

“We will discuss the mechanism, how it will be. Will it be by popular referendum on this contract? Or ratified it by the General Council?” said Omar.
