Two missiles hit Turkish base in Iraq’s Nineveh

ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – The Turkish military base in Nineveh governorate in northwest Iraq was targeted with another rocket, mounting the attacks on the base to two within 24 hours.

Several missiles hit the vicinity of the Turkish military base located near Bashiqa town north of Mosel city in Nineveh governorate, local sources said.

No casualties or material damage were reported.

The Turkish base was established in 2015. The Iraqi authorities rebuked the establishment of the base, and in October 2016 the Iraqi Parliament mandated to oust the Turkish forces.

The Iraqi Parliament approved a decision to take deterrent procedures against Turkey describing the Turkish forces as “occupational”.
