Turkish bombardment of Syria’s Kobani a challenge to US and Russia, AANES
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish bombardment of the city of Kobani and its countryside, north Syria, is a challenge to the US-led Global Coalition and Russia, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said on Sunday.
“The target of the Turkish occupation is a clear message that it will continue the extermination war against our people,” the AANES posted on its official Facebook.
Yesterday, the Turkish bombardment of Kobani resulted in the killing of a civilian and the injury of 11 others.
It added that the bombardment is a clear challenge to the Global Coalition and Russia as they both signed agreements with Turkey regarding northeast Syria, especially the border.
“This escalation and offensive requires that these forces show clear positions, otherwise they bear the responsibility of the partnership with Turkey.”
The AANES condemned the Turkish offensive and demanded the international community and the actors to move to stop such aggression that destabilizes the region and revive terrorism.
