SDF reveals toll of Turkish shelling of Syria’s Kobani, Tel Abyad

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced, on Saturday, that a civilian lost his life and others were wounded in an initial toll of a shelling by Turkish forces supported by Turkish-backed armed factions targeting the city center of Kobani and six villages of the city in addition to several villages in Tel Abyad, north Syria. 

Nine areas in Kobani and its countryside came under attack of the Turkish aggression, according to SDF website.

On Saturday at 12,10 PM the Turkish forces shelled Sina’a route, al-Masaref Square and route of Mamit village, south of Kobani, SDF said in a statement.

The shelling mainly hit the countryside of Kobani in the villages of Qaramogh, Alishar, Tel Hajeb, Sarzori, Khana, Gultabah, east of Kobani.   

The civilian Ibrahim Sharif, a resident of Khana village, lost his life and 11 others were wounded in the Turkish shelling in addition to massive material losses.

Meanwhile, villages al-Hamdiyat, al-Horiya, Bir Arab, and Shamsin in the western countryside of Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, witnessed a similar shelling.
