Iraqi forces arrest 6 members of ISIS near Syrian border

ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Iraqi Security Media Cell announced capturing six members of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in Nineveh governorate north of the country.  

In a new qualitative operation of the Intelligence Agency, six members of ISIS were captured, the cell stated.

The operation was launched in a well-planned ambush in Rabi’a area west of Nineveh while they were crossing the border towards Syria, one of them was fled from prison, according to the statement.

The six members are from the killed leader Talib Ridwan al-Hamdon known as Abo Layth al-Ansari who led an attack on Nineveh on June 9, 2014.
