Government-backed armored division withdraws from Rif Dimashq
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Fourth Armored Division affiliated with the Syrian government forces pulled out its all checkpoints set up in the city of Arbin situated in Eastern Ghouta region in Rif Dimashq governorate, southwest Syria.
Consequently, Arbin is now under the control of the Military Security Service under the auspices of Russian Military Police.
In early December, the Fourth Division pulled out three of its checkpoints from the western countryside of Rif Dimashq in accordance with an agreement demanding surrendering the region to the Military Security Service.
The Fourth Armored Division is a Syrian façade to serve Iranian military actions across Syria. However, the Military Security Service is affiliated with Russian forces.
The withdrawal of the Fourth Armored Division comes within the efforts to oust Iran and its proxies from Syria.
