ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Sunday the launch of a five-point security operation in the Hamrin Mountains range, in the center of Iraq to purse the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) members.
The PMF stated that the plans for the operation were developed in coordination with the Diyala Army Operations Command of the army, and they were presented and approved by the Joint Operations Command.
The security operation is conducted under the air cover of the Iraqi army aviation.
The operations aimed at pursuing ISIS and eliminating its hideouts in these areas to restrict its movement, through which it carries out attacks on both security forces and civilians,” the statement added.
