Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch praises Autonomous Administration

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday morning, his Beatitude Patriarch Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan visited the town of Amuda in northeast Syria.

Mor Ignatius, Patriarch of the Antioch Syriac Catholics in the world, went to the “Mar Ephrem” church in Amuda, according to what was published on the official website of the Executive Council of the Jazira region.

He was received by the co-chairs of the Religions and Beliefs Affairs in the Jazira region, Sennar Faro and Jubeir Hatto, Father Saliba Abdullah, priest of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Qamishli, Khaju Matta, representative of St Elias Church in Amuda plus residents of the Syriac sect in Amuda.

The Patriarch also met with the co-chairman of the Executive Council, Tal’at Younes, and Nazira Gawriya, at the headquarters of Executive Council in Amuda.

He expressed his gratitude and praised the efforts made by the administration to embrace all communities of the region, according to the official website of the Executive Council of the Jazira region.
