Seminar in Syria’s Raqqa discusses activating youth’s roles in political process
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The political parties should activate the role of the youth as they are the mainstay in society in the regions of northeast Syria, an official of the Future Syria Party said on Thursday.
This came in a seminar organized by the Future Syria Party in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria, attended by intellectuals, politicians and civil activists.
The participants discussed the need to activate the political participation of all the social strata in northeast Syria.
Most of the opinions focused on the need for adequate space for freedom and all participants expressed their opinions, Mowaffaq Ismail, head of the Youth Council of the Future Syria Party, told North Press.
“If the parties make the relationship between them and the people legal and not as winners and losers, then they will attract thousands to their ranks,” said Bilal Ibrahim, a participant in the seminar.
“The political reality indicates that the parties suffer from a large gap between them and the people of northeast Syria,” he told North Press.
Ibrahim suggested that the political parties of the region should learn from the experiences of the western parties which “managed to influence the masses and build strong bridges of trust.”
