Health center in Syria’s Hasakah receives medical equipment from Global Coalition

SHADDADI, Syria (North Press) – In coordination with the Health Board in Hasakah Region, a delegation from the US-led Global Coalition’s Civil Affairs delivered on Wednesday medical equipment to the clinic of the town of Tel Shayer in the Shaddadi countryside, south of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

“A team from the Global Coalition’s Civil Affairs delivered medical equipment to the clinic in the town of Tel Shayer, with the aim of improving the health sector in the area,” North press reported Derbas Ma’mi, an official of the Health Board in Hasakah Region.

“The area is vast and the health sector suffers a lot, though it serves more than 7,000 families spread over 90 villages,” Ma’mi added.

The medical equipment delivered includes a stethoscope, a sphygmomanometer, oxygen masks, oxygen bottles, an oral suction device and a table, in addition to a fridge, a medical endoscope, a wheelchair, moving spotlights, beds with mattresses, and a thermometer.

“The center still suffers from medical staff shortage and needs an ambulance and other medical equipment,” according to Ma’mi.

The town of Tel Shayer is located southeast of the city of Shaddadi, 35 km south of Hasakah, and has more than 90 villages, including villages on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
