SDC gives attention to ties with neighboring Arab states: Syrian politician

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, an official of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) said the SDC pays close attention to have relations with neighboring Arab countries.

“Syria, and northeast Syria, are part of the Arab region and they cannot be separated from each other,” Sihanouk Dibo, member of presidential committee of the SDC, stated.

“The SDC communicated the Arab neighboring countries as soon as it started establishing external relations. It opened a representative office in Egypt to build balanced relations with the Arab world,” Dibo told North Press.

“Some Arab capital cities hesitate to have ties with all political parties in Syria. Arab states should attentively consider what is going on in Syria,” he added.

According to Dibo, the SDF, the SDC and the Autonomous Administration all represent a comprehensive joint framework to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

Since September, Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of the AANES Department of Foreign Relations, has doubled formal and informal relations with the Arab world.

Omar pointed out that the Autonomous Administration should have ties with the Arab countries in order to limit the Iranian and Turkish role in Syria.

“Iranian and Turkish involvement in Syria object the interests of the Syrian people,” he added.

Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE are the main three Arab countries that SDC should build relations with in order to have an active positive role in the region and to replace Turkey and Iran.
