ISIS kills two government forces in Syria’s Palmyra
PALMYRA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Islamic State organization (ISIS) militiamen killed two government forces soldiers at the gate of Palmyra city in the Syrian Desert.
“Two members in the Fourth Division were killed in an attack carried out by ISIS on a government military point near al-Bayarat road,” a government military source stated.
ISIS militiamen were driving a government military vehicle which raised the Syrian national flag and fired the government forces as they came nearer to the point.
Once completing the attack, ISIS militiamen raised ISIS flag instead of the Syrian national one and chanted slogans supporting the group. Afterwards, they fled to the Desert in Homs, east Syria, eyewitnesses said.
Two days ago, seven government members were killed and three military vehicles belonging to Iranian-backed militias were destroyed in two separate attacks east of Syria.
Recently, the Syrian Badia has been witnessing a great activity of ISIS sleeper cells, as the region has witnessed fierce battles with ISIS, and dozens of deaths have been recorded over the past two months, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Source.
