“Qasioun Brigade” claims responsibility for bus explosion in Syria’s Damascus

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Qasioun Brigade organization claimed responsibility for the explosion that hit a bus of Syrian military forces in Damascus reporting 14 casualties.

“Qasioun Brigade which operates in Damascus and its countryside managed to target an accommodation bus that is affiliated with the military settlement in the Defense Ministry via IEDs planted beneath the bus in the middle of the capital of Damascus at the area of Jisr al-Ra’is, which led to the killing of 14 personnel and wounding of others,” the faction said in a statement on its websites.

The organization affirmed, “ the continuation of our special operations inside the areas held by the regime in response to the daily massacres that the regime and its militias commit against our people in the liberated north,” referring to Idlib.

Two IED bomb attacks took place when a bus of the Syrian military crossed al-Ra’is Bridge in the center of Damascus, resulting in the killing of 14 and the wounding of three others, according to pro-government news agency SANA.

The engineering units dismantled a third explosive device which was planted in the site of the explosion, SANA reported.

Qasioun Brigades (Saraya Qasioun) was established in February 2019 in Damascus. It carried out its first operations in April 2019. The organization made it clear that its primary goal was to fight the Syrian government and its supporters. The Syrian government has listed it as a terrorist organization.
