Russian, Turkish forces patrol in northern Syria’s Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian Military Police (MP) conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of northern Syria’s Kobani.

This is the 76th patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in 2019.

The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set out from the village of Gharib, 15 km east of Kobani.

It roamed the villages of Qaramogh, Jishan, Kharabisan, Tahtani/Itoyaran Tahtani, Baghdik and Khana/Banderkhan in western countryside of Tel Abyad.  

Then, the patrol immediately returned to the starting point in Gharib village after passing through the villages of Baghdik, Hollaqiya and Ain al-Bat. 

After that, the Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ghatib village, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the Iza’a (radio) tower area.

On October 11, Russian and Turkish forces conducted the 75th joint patrol in the western and northern countryside of Kobani.
