Turkish artillery targets northeast Syria’s Tel Tamr
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Turkish forces bombed the village of Tel Kaifji, in the countryside of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, causing damage to the houses of the residents of the village.
The Turkish forces, stationed at a Turkish military base in the village of al-Dawoudiya, targeted the Assyrian-majority village of Tel Kaifji with artillery shells, a field source from the area said.
The bombing caused damage to the residents’ houses, the source added.
Most of the villages located on the contact lines with the Turkish forces in the countryside of the towns of Tel Tamr and Abu Rasin in the countryside of Hasakah, have become empty of residents due to the continuous bombardment.
The countryside of Tel Tamr includes about 33 Assyrian villages, five of which were almost fully emptied due to ISIS attacks and their location on the frontlines with the Turkish forces, according to the residents.
