Education Board in northeast Syria resorts to e-learning if lockdown continues
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Will resort to e-learning and give lessons through television and on social media if the total lockdown continues, an official of the Education Board in the Jazira region, northeast Syria, said on Thursday.
“We have taken all necessary preventative measures according to our capabilities in coordination with the Health Board and its instructions,” Rohat Khalil, the co-chair of the Education Board in the Jazira region, told North Press.
“No one can guarantee that the COVID-19 will not spread, but we try to prevent that By complying with the instructions and educating students,” she said.
Khalil pointed out that in case a partial curfew was imposed, schools will remain open, taking into account physical distancing, where each class will contain only 15 students.
“Last year, we recorded all the lessons of all stages and broadcasted on Rojava TV channel Dibistana Male (home school) webpage,” she noted.
She believed that students can benefit from it, as students are followed up by teachers via WhatsApp groups.
