Russian-Turkish joint patrol runs in Syria’s west Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian military police conducted a joint patrol with Turkish forces in the western countryside of Syria’s Kobani, the 73rd patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement.
The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set out from the village of Ashma, 20 kilometers west of Kobani.
It roamed the villages of Jaqerli Fouqani, Jebnah, Bayadah, reaching to Zor Maghar, which is opposite of Jarabulus on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River and the last village west of Kobani.
After that the patrol immediately returned from Zor Maghar heading to the east, passing =the villages of Bayadah, Katash, Jebnah, Binder, Qaqoui Tahtani, Qola, and Sosan before reaching the checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) near a radio tower seven kilometers west of Kobani.
The patrol returned to the set out point in Ashma village, passing the villages of Seftek, Boban, Khorkhori, Qaran, and Jaqerli Fouqani.
After that, Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ashma village, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the radio tower.
On September 20, Russian and Turkish forces conducted the 72nd joint patrol in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
