Russia and Turkey exchange roles in Syria, say Raqqa activists
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Members of civil society organizations in Raqqa, northern Syria, said on Thursday that Russia and Turkey are exchanging roles of bombing and initiating massacres in northern Syria.
Civil society organizations are a group of federations and unions working to be a link between the laws of the Autonomous Administration, social groups, and economic activities.
Ibrahim al-Jassem, co-chair of civil society organizations in Raqqa, told North Press that “Syrian civilians in many areas have become victims of those massacres and bargains taking place on Syrian territory, behind which the Russians and the Turks stand.”
On Thursday, civil society organizations in Raqqa issued a statement condemning the Turkish bombing during the past two days on areas in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), which killed civilians.
The statement called on Turkey to stop these massacres and stop the aggression towards the peoples of the region, and the bombing of civilians in northern Syria.
Ibrahim Issa, head of the Youth Organization Office in Raqqa, told North Press that Russia is colluding with Turkey via its silence over the continuous bombing targeting unarmed civilians in the countryside of Sere Kaniye.
Issa pointed out that Russia and Turkey at the same time are committing massacres “against children and women, and bombing hospitals and schools in several areas of northern Syria.”
