Turkish bombing targets Iraq’s Shengal
ERBIL, KRG, Iraq (North Press) – On Monday, a Turkish plane bombed a car in the center of the city of Shengal, west of the Iraqi province of Nineveh, reporting casualties.
A source from the city, adjacent to the Syrian border, said that a Turkish warplane targeted a vehicle carrying a Yazidi family.
Two people were wounded in the attack, and were transferred to a hospital in Mosul, amid reports that one of them was killed.
The source said that the concerns institutions in Shengal are expected to issue a statement in this regard.
This is not the first time that the civilian has been subjected to a Turkish attack, as air attacks and attacks by drones of military units have been repeated
The Turkish attack coincides with the arrival of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to Nineveh today to see the conditions of the province.
Shengal, which has a Yezidi majority, is administratively affiliated with Nineveh Governorate, the second largest Iraqi governorate, and inhabited by Arabs, Kurds, Yezidis, Turkmen and Christians.
