Unknown gunmen target government forces’ point in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press)On Wednesday, unknown gunmen attacked a government forces’ point in the north of Daraa, south Syria.

“A group of gunmen attacked the Cultural Center where the members of the Syrian State Security Branch take it as headquarters in the region of Jassem, north of Daraa,” a local source said.

“The gunmen attacked the headquarters after midnight using the RPG shells in addition to the automatic weapons and Kalashnikovs,” the source added.

Following the attack, the State Security Branch brought in military reinforcements which included dozens of members and four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with anti-aircraft guns.

This is not the first time for the same headquarters to be attacked. It was previously controlled and all of its members were arrested by gunmen from the city of Jassem, in response to the arrest of a former opposition leader.
