Landmines explodes in Syria’s Hama, civilian died
HAMA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a farmer died due to the explosion of a landmine left over from the war in the village of Ma’an, northeast of Hama, central Syria, which is under the control of the Syrian government.
A resident of the village told North Press that the landmine exploded while farmers were picking pistachio crops in the farms of Ma’an village, killing Ahmed Mustafa al-Qaddour, a resident of the village.
The remnants of war in the areas that witnessed military confrontations pose a threat to the lives of the residents, amid absence of local awareness campaigns on how to deal with them.
According to statistics of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), more than a hundred Syrians died in the explosion of the remnants of war between the beginning of this year and last April.
On July 28, a farmer died and two others were injured in a landmine explosion in Khan Shaykhoun region, Idlib countryside, in the government-controlled area, north of Hama.
