Syrian Democratic Forces arrest ISIS members in Syria’s Hasakah countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that, during a security operation, the anti-terror units in the countryside of Hasakah, northeast Syria, arrested two members of an ISIS sleeper cell who were active in collecting information and planning assassinations. 

The security operation was carried out near the Tel al-Jayer area in the eastern countryside of al-Shaddadi city, with the support of the US-led Global Coalition forces, according to the SDF official website.  

The two ISIS members were active in collecting information, planning assassinations, and facilitating the move of ISIS members between Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Deir ez-Zor countryside, and technical equipment and documents were confiscated.  

The countryside of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa and Hasakah are witnessing an escalation of the assassinations of clan dignitaries, SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration and civilians. 

ISIS is claiming to carry out some assassinations, while the SDF is launching security operations to pursue the accused.
