Government forces continue to bombard opposition sites in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria ( North Press) – On Sunday evening, the Syrian government forces bombed sites in the villages and towns of the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, northwest Syria, and the Ghab Plain, west of Hama, and another in the Latakia countryside, with missiles and artillery shells, amid intense flight of Russian reconnaissance planes over the region.
“The government forces bombed the villages and towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Oweid, Sfuhen, Benin and the outskirts of al-Bara, with missiles and heavy artillery shells”, sources of the opposition factions said.
“The government forces targeted the village of Qleidin in the Ghab Plain, with guided missiles without casualties reported,” the sources added.
In the countryside of Latakia, local sources said that widespread wildfires broke out in the forests of Jabal al-Turkman as a result of the government forces targeting the area with missiles.
Military escalation continues in the de-escalation zone in the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, northwest Syria, despite the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in March 2020.
