Mutual bombardment between government and opposition factions in Syria’s Idlib, Hama
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, the shelling between the government forces and Turkish-backed armed factions resumed in the de-escalation zone in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, northwest Syria, after hours of cessation.
The government forces bombed the villages and towns of Yusuf, al-Sahn, Hmeimat, and Benin in the southern countryside of Idlib with heavy artillery and missiles, military sources from the opposition told North Press.
The bombing coincided with intense flight of Russian warplanes and drones over Idlib and the countryside of Hama, Aleppo, and Latakia, the sources added.
Government forces stationed in Jorin camp bombed the armed factions’ positions in the outskirts of the town of Qalidin, in the Ghab Plain area in the western Hama countryside, with mortars and heavy artillery, according to the same sources.
Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra Front) and Jaysh al-Izza (Army of Glory) along with the National Front for Liberation, announced their targeting of the government forces’ positions in the vicinity of Kafr Mous, south of Idlib, with Grad rockets and mortar shells .
