Non-governmental organization in Syria’s Raqqa holds a youth seminar
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a non-governmental organization in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria, concluded the work of a youth seminar that discussed youth issues over two days.
The seminar, which was held by the Pel Organization (a civil society organization operating in northeast Syria’s regions) in al-Rashid Hall in the city center, was attended by a number of young people, representatives of youth institutions and civil activists.
On its second day, the Pel Youth Seminar 2021 discussed the dangers of the spread of drugs and extremist ideas on Syrian youth in general, and the youth of Raqqa in particular.
Ayham al-Khalaf, coordinator of activities at the Pel Organization, said that the seminar provided a safe space for the youth to present their opinions and suggestions to the actors and to ask them questions directly.
He told North Press that the goal of the seminar is to point out the need to enhance health awareness, immunize youth against drugs, and call for addressing the high rates of unemployment.
In April, the Pel Organization launched a construction project in Raqqa under the slogan “Our Country is One” with the aim of strengthening societal cohesion.
