Pel organization’s seminar in Syria’s Raqqa continues for second day
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Pel organization (a civil society organization operating in northeast Syria’s regions) held a seminar to discuss the situation of the displaced in Raqqa, with the aim of “achieving societal cohesion and strengthening the local capabilities.”
The seminar was attended by a number of people from Raqqa and representatives of non-governmental organizations working in the city.
The organization launched the Bina’ project under the slogan “Our Country is One”, in order to enhance societal cohesion.
The attendees discussed the issue of the displaced from the point of view of the local residents of Raqqa, and the positive and negative effects of displacement.
The attendees suggested several solutions “to ensure the preservation of the dignity of the displaced, without affecting the privacy of the local population.”
“We aim to shed light on the issue of the displaced in Raqqa, especially after the large increase in the number of displaced people,” Omar al-Ali, a coordinator at the organization, said.
On Sunday, the organization held a seminar to discuss the situation of the displaced, in the presence of a number of displaced people in Raqqa.
