Woman killed, child wounded in Turkish bombing of two Shi’ite towns in Syria’s Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a woman lost her life and a child was wounded in a bombing by Turkish-backed armed factions on the the Shi’ite towns of Nubl and Zahra, north of Aleppo, northern Syria.
Local sources in the two towns said that 35-year-old Amina Abbas el-Fil lost her life and a six-year-old girl was wounded.
The bombing came from the positions of the Turkish forces and pro-Turkish armed factions in the Barad area of the countryside of Afrin, the source added.
The bombing caused material damage to the houses and properties.
This is the first time that Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed factions have targeted the towns of Nubl and Zahra since they took control of the Barad region to the west following their attacks on Afrin in 2018.
This is taking place in light of the military escalation in Idlib and the countryside of Aleppo between the Russian-backed government forces and the the Turkish-backed armed factions.
Two days ago, shells hit the new al-Shahba neighborhood in Aleppo city, causing material damage.
