Government forces bomb power station in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday evening, Syrian government forces bombed sites of the opposition groups in the villages and towns of Idlib, Hama and Aleppo, northwest Syria, including a power station, with missiles and artillery shells, while the Turkish-backed opposition groups bombed the government forces’ sites in the eastern countryside of Idlib.
“The Syrian regime forces bombed the towns of al-Bara, al-Fatira, Kafr Oweid, Sufuhn and the outskirts of Kansafra in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib,” military sources of the opposition groups told North Press.
The bombing targeted neighboring villages in the Ghab Plain area, Zayzun power station and the outskirts of the town of al-Ziyara in the western countryside of Hama, and the village of Kafr Amma in the western countryside of Aleppo, the sources added.
The bombing caused “destruction of public and private properties, without reports of casualties. The shelling coincided with intense flight of Russian drones and warplanes over the region,” according to the same sources.
The government forces’ positions in the town of Khan al-Sable in the eastern countryside of Idlib were targeted by the National Front for Liberation which includes several opposition groups, a source of the Front told North press.
Over the past two days, the northwestern regions of Syria had witnessed a cessation of bombing operations before they resumed this morning.
