Russian warplanes bomb opposition sites in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Russian warplanes raided on positions of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the southern countryside of Idlib.
Russian warplanes targeted the fortifications of opposition groups in the village of Ain Sheib, in the southern countryside of Idlib, with high-explosive vacuum missiles, military sources told North Press.
The Russian air strikes coincided with heavy bombardment of the government forces on the groups’ positions in the southern countryside of Idlib and the western countryside of Hama, without reports about casualties, the sources added.
Earlier today, the government forces renewed their bombardment on the fortifications of the opposition groups in the de-escalation zone, as part of the mutual shelling between the two parties in the area.
The government forces bombed opposition groups’ locations in Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, with heavy artillery and rocket launchers, a military source told North Press.
