Syria’s Tomorrow Movement suspends all activities and dialogues with Syrian coalition
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Syria’s Tomorrow Movement suspended all activities and dialogues that had begun with the Syrian National Coalition for an indefinite period, after “irresponsible statements” issued by the head of the coalition.
In November 2015, Syria’s Tomorrow Syria Movement was established in Istanbul, led by the opposition figure Fouad Hamira, and pledged to be a new part of the Syrian opposition, and to be open to all components.
On June 14, the head of the Syrian National Coalition (SNC, also based in Turkey), Nasr al-Hariri, called on Turkey to intervene militarily alongside its armed opposition groups to expel the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the cities of Tal Rifaat, Manbij and all Syrian regions.
Its political office published a statement reviewed by North Press, in which it said, “Syria Tomorrow Movement regrets the irresponsible statements made by the head of the SNC calling on the Turkish army to intervene militarily in north and east Syria under the pretext of fighting terrorism.”
They condemned Hariri’s call and considered it another form of the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands, “serving only foreign agendas far from the interests and aspirations of all communities of the Syrian people who seek to end all occupations in their lands.”
The statement added that they “consider these statements serving the Syrian regime in implementing its agendas, far from finding any political solution.”
