Syria Recovery Trust Fund to open three prosthetic centers in northeast
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) announced the approval of a new health campaign involving the opening of three prosthetic centers in northeast Syria’s Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Hasakah.
The initiative will include the establishment of the three centers, the hiring of prosthetic specialists to create the prosthetics and train patients in their use, and the provision of physical therapy.
Their site added that the initiative aims to help 1,260 amputees wounded during the conflict in Syria.
SRTF, according to their website, is a “multi-donor trust fund” established on the initiative of the Friends of the Syrian People, and by an agreement between Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and the US along with the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces. They have completed projects across Syria, including in the Aleppo, Idlib, Jarabulus, Raqqa, and Deir ez-Zor regions.
