Turkish militias responsible for targeting civilians: Ilham Ahmad
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, president of the Executive Board of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Ilham Ahmad, called on the international community to hold Turkish-backed militias responsible for targeting civilians.
“Turkey relies on its militia groups in Afrin who have a long history of targeting innocent civilians,” Ahmad tweeted.
“The international community must hold them responsible and stand against their accusations of our forces,” she added.
On June 12, the media reported that at least seven people were killed and several others were wounded in two separate artillery attacks on the city center of Afrin.
The first attack targeted a residential area while the second one targeted a hospital shortly thereafter, killing at least six.
Turkish media quoted Turkish officials claiming that the Syrian Democratic Forces were behind the attacks.
