Mine explosion kills and injures people in Syria’s Derik

DERIK, Syria (North Press)Seven people, including five children, were killed and injured in a mine explosion in the village of Mozlan, east of Derik, in the far northeast Syria. 

The mine exploded near the house of a shepherd, as the children played with it, a source from the village told North Press.

The explosion caused the shepherd’s two daughters to lose their lives, and the injury of the shepherd, his wife and daughter, and two other girls from the village, the source added. 

The source pointed out that the shepherd’s wife and two girls from the village were taken to Qamishli hospitals, as their injuries are severe and their condition is unstable.

The shepherd and his daughter are being treated in the Public Hospital in Derik and their conditions are stable.
