Government forces shell Turkish-backed groups’ posts in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – A civilian was wounded as a result of a shelling by Syrian government forces on the western countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria,on Friday.
The government forces targeted the posts of Turkish-backed armed groups in the towns of al-Najeya and Mar’and, west Idlib countryside, with heavy artillery, a military source from the armed groups told North Press.
The government shelling left a civilian wound, who was transferred to a medical point for treatment, the source added.
Meanwhile, government forces stationed near the city of Kafr Nubul, south Idlib countryside, targeted the posts of the armed groups in al-Fatira, south Idlib, with mortars, according to the same source.
The shelling coincided with intensive flight by Russian warplanes and drones over the countryside of Idlib, Hama, Latakia, and Aleppo reporting no airstrikes.
Through Idlib and parts of other governorates are subjected to the two-year-old ceasefire signed between Russia and Turkey, those areas witness successive military operations.
