Government forces bomb opposition fortifications in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Syrian government forces bombed the fortifications of the Turkish–backed armed opposition groups in Zawiya Mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib, within the de-escalation zone, northwestern Syria.
The government forces bombed the sites of the opposition groups in the towns of al-Fatira, Kansafra, al-Bara, Sufuhn and Fleifel in Zawiya Mountain with artillery shells and rocket launchers, a military source from the opposition told North Press.
The bombing left great material damage to the public and private properties, without reporting any human loss, the source added.
The bombing coincided with an intense flight of the Russian warplanes and drones over Idlib and the countryside of Hama, Latakia and Aleppo, without any air strike recorded.
Government forces and Turkish-backed armed groups continue to violate the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey on March 5, 2020 within the de-escalation zone, northwestern Syria.
