Youths from Syria’s Suwayda on way to Libya under Russian auspice
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – 65 young people from Suwayda, south Syria, are preparing to go to Libya to work as “oil facilities’ guards and for fighting missions,” under the Russian supervision and coordination.
During the past two years, hundreds of young people were involved in military and security contracts via security agents to fight outside Suwayda under different names due to the bad economic situation and the high unemployment rate.
Bassel Jamal al-Eid, 35, a pseudonym for a young man who agreed to travel, said that 65 young people are getting ready now to go to Khmeimim Air Base within 5 days.
The age of the volunteers range from 23 to 50 years old, most of whom live in the poor countryside of Suwayda.
He pointed out that the contract includes a fixed salary, which is about $ 700 and for three months.
Recently, new Russian security companies have been working on recruitment of young Syrian people instead of Russian Wagner company via security agents and a government cover to travel outside Syria and areas under the Russian influence, such as Libya, Armenia and Venezuela.
At the beginning of this month, one of the mediators of the Russian security companies in the region of Shahba in the northern countryside of Suwayda opened the door to registration for training courses to join the special forces teams of the Suwayda youth, which are affiliated with Russia.
