Unknown individuals kill garbageman, wound two in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a garbageman was killed and two others were wounded in an attack by unknown individuals, who were riding a motorbike, in Deir ez-Zor countryside, east Syria.

Masked gunmen fired at a trash truck of the city’s municipality, during working hours, in a landfill on the outskirts of Badia killing the driver and wounding two other workers, a local source from Hajin town, said.

The wounded, who were transformed to al-Kaysom Hospital in the town for treatment, suffered from critical conditions.

A relative cited one of the wounded saying that after killing the driver, the armed individuals took his phone and smashed it, as well as they tried to kill other workers, but “they had no ammunition left and so they fled.”

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing broad-scale assassinations targeting Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) members, employees of the AANES institutions, tribal figures and civilians.

A week ago, ISIS claimed the assassination of two SDF members and a civilian in al-Busayrah, east Deir ez-Zor.
